The spirit planchette was able to give more info on what may have transpired before the party arrived. Estovion, in some way, was the contact the Whispering Way agents were in touch with in Ascanor. The group seems to have a few ideas of where to go from here.
The lodge seemed to be pretty shaken up about the loss of the Margrave, while some of the locals are positive it must be an attack from the infamous **Devil in Gray. Duristan seemed excited that there may be a werewolf amongst the guests or staff and went around trying to stab people with a silver dining fork, leaving off a bit after Usas offered to give him a second asshole.
A second noble lost his life in the evening following the Margrave, Corvin Tergsvor. He approached the party in the night having been possessed by some kind of wolf spirit. Jik attempted to free him from it but was not able to in the midst of the battle in close quarters, Jushyn was bitten and clawed badly and Niri dealt the killing blow, which seemed to have the spirit take particular interest in her, possessing her next and trying to continue the attack. Usas was able to get the protection from evil spell into effect and Niri, with a cooler head, was able to injure herself with her dagger, dealing a great deal of damage to herself in the process but forcing the spirit out of her body. The group attempted to battle the incorporeal wolf, but it leapt through the floor and away.

**The Devil in Gray: It’s the size of a charger with an ashgray pelt. Its howl summons up devils and drives those who hear it mad. Its jaws can crush a horse’s skull, and it can vanish in a cloud of mist and dust. Countless tales surround the Devil in Gray, the most feared murderer in Lozeri.
Beginning its unpredictable rampage 10 years ago with the savaging of a lone washerwoman, its bloody legend includes attacks on whole parties of pursuers and, in 4701, invading Chastel, where it slaughtered nearly 20 victims. Dozens of deaths across the county are attributed to the Devil’s fangs, and though many claim to have slain the beast, its depredations continue even after a decade of horror. While some claim the creature is a werewolf, supposedly even the Shudderwood’s lycanthropes fear and avoid the beast. Though human hunters have never been able to track the creature, the werewolves supposedly know of its lair, a place of grisly trophies and ravenous pups.
